In the case of Sherwan Sherwani and the other Badinan detainees, we presented all the facts to the public at the appropriate time. Today, however, this young advocate of freedom, who is on a hunger strike in prison, has only two simple demands—both fully consistent with the law and with the basic rights that every detainee should enjoy:

First, to be transferred to the Correctional Facility in Sulaymaniyah.

Second, to be allowed family visits, including visits from his wife and children, in accordance with the law.

For the sake of justice, human dignity, and freedom, it is the responsibility of every freedom-loving person to stand with Sherwan Sherwani. It is no longer acceptable or justifiable for the relevant authorities to ignore these legitimate demands.
